Senator applauds Clinton campaign, looks to future

"After eight long years of policies that have hurt America's families, made our country less secure and turned surpluses into deficits, change is in the air. Our state and our nation deserve a leader with the vision to challenge history and the leadership to turn our country around. That's why I'm so proud to endorse Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States.

"I've seen Senator Obama's dedication to fighting for average Americans first hand. We've worked together to protect America's workers, increase access to student loans, and ensure that our veterans are getting the health care and benefits they need and deserve. I know that he will continue to fight for America's families in the White House and I will work every day to help him to get there.

"And I truly want to thank Senator Clinton for the amazing and historic race she has run. She has dedicated her entire life to fighting for America's families and our country is a better place because of her efforts. I know she will continue to provide tremendous leadership to our Party and our nation and will remain a strong and constant voice for the needs of all Americans.

Thanks to Senator Obama and Senator Clinton and the campaigns they have run, every child in America - no matter their background - knows that he or she can be anything they want to be.
